Last April I wrote Cold Turkey, a true story about my encounter with a giant turkey, who I named Freedom, outside my apartment in Brookline on a cold, rainy day. Well, this morning Universal Hub reported that the turkeys are back out in full-force. A contributing photographer for the Brookline Tab snapped a [...]

“Nebraska State Senator Ernie Chambers filed suit against God Friday, asking a court to order the Almighty and his followers to stop making terrorist threats.”
You can’t make this stuff up.

I’ve always wondered what SNL cast members thought of Jimmy Fallon’s relentless ruining of sketches by cracking up all for the sake of trying to be cute. Well, according to Tracy Morgan, they didn’t like it very much.

A fuchsia flyer, discovered by ABC News, has surfaced online that normally wouldn’t be a big deal but is in this case because it just so happens to be a Mitt Romney for Governor flier wishing a “great pride weekend.” It also states that “all citizens deserve equal rights regardless of their sexual preference.”

Think Progress is really on the ball. Apparently Fox censored Sally Field’s anti-war remarks during her Emmy acceptance speech. I guess they didn’t like her. They really didn’t like her.

30 Rock and The Sopranos took home top honors at the Emmy Awards that, despite being hosted by Ryan Seacrest, turned out to be fairly entertaining. Seacrest didn’t bomb but he’s still not funny.
Also of note: Terry O’Quinn won his first Emmy for his portrayal of John Locke on LOST. 24 meanwhile was [...]

Eugene Levy always seems to be popping into any movie poster he appears in. It almost seems as if he accidentally walked into frame and they decided to just keep him in. Well, what would happen if Eugene Levy just started popping into any film?

According to CNN, O.J. Simpson has been arrested in connection with the armed robbery of a Las Vegas casino. I can’t wait till his next book, about how he would have done it had he actually robbed the casino.

Daniel Miessler has a great post about the flawed yet adored presidential candidate known as Ron Paul and why America seems to be in love with him.

Jon Stewart is set to return as the host of the 80th. Annual Academy Awards.
I’m thrilled to be asked to host the Academy Awards for the second time because, as they say, the third time’s the charm.

(v.) [ intrans. ] | boil•stən|
The act of throwing up in one’s own mouth and swallowing it back down.
ORIGIN
The origin of boylston comes from the street Boylston in Boston, MA, which is named for the town of Boylston, MA. It was thought, by some, that the sound made when pronouncing the name of the street conjured up images of a boil — an inflamed pus-filled swelling on the skin, typically caused by the infection of a hair follicle.

The new season of Curb Your Enthusiasm kicked off Sunday night with one of the funniest episodes in the show’s history. After a somewhat lackluster fifth season, Larry David and crew seem to be back in top form. They’ve really made things interesting by having the Davids adopt a family that was left [...]

I guess I shouldn’t have celebrated so quickly when it came to securing complete closure with Capital One. I received another bill from the nefarious credit card company last week asking for $68 for accumulating late fees that were spawned off of the $.81 payment protection fee that I’ve been told was taken care [...]

The Weekly Dig has a fairly spot-on collection of all the Emerson stereotypes summed up into a few paragraphs. It was written by Michael Brodeur, a one-time Emerson professor, so no one can really challenge the validity of his claims. The accompanying picture is fairly accurate as well, save for the smile.
You are [...]

I feel sorry for everyone who bought an iPhone and paid the ridiculous $599 price tag now that Apple is going to cut the price of the 8GB iPhone by $200. Now that Apple has unveiled the new touch-screen iPods, essentially an iPhone without the phone, Apple had no choice but to cut the price on the iPhone. They’re also going to scrap the underselling 4GB model, which means they’ll probably be introducing a larger model to fill the $599 void. I couldn’t justify paying $600 for a phone and I still can’t justify paying $400, but at this rate I might buy one next year when they’re (hopefully) even cheaper.

I’m up at six o’clock in the morning because Linus gave me quite the scare. I should probably go ahead and state that I wasn’t even sleeping when said scare occurred somewhere around 4:30. I was lying in bed, suffering from insomnia as usual, watching Picket Fences. That’s when Linus started to [...]
