Emerson “Football” on “It’s Always Sunny”
Last spring in our Writing for TV class, we had a conference call with Rob McElhenney, the creator of It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia. As a thank you our class sent him a t-shirt that reads “Emerson College Football - Undefeated Since 1880.” (Emerson has never had a football team, hence the irony.) Well, on last night’s hi-larious third season finale, Rob sported that very same t-shirt. Much to my surprise, he did not cut the sleeves off. If you’ve never checked out It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia you should, it’s one of the funniest shows on TV. There’s also a brief write-up about the shirt on Emerson’s VMA page.

Awesome. I just loaded up the this episode and first thing I noticed was the “Emerson Football” shirt Rob had on. I was surprised he didn’t have the sleeves popped off too.
My kid’s named Emerson and his must have toy around him all the time is a football. Do you know where I can get one of these shirts? I know I won’t be able to get a toddler size or anything, but I’d still like one.
Idea? Great third season too!

I arrived here via http://www.katesadventures.com, and I just wanted to comment to say that I LOVE It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia. I think it’s so cool that your class got to talk with Rob, and even cooler that he wore the shirt that you sent him! I love that shirt. One of the schools that I applied to when I was a senior in high school had one of those too. Even though I didn’t end up going there, I almost bought the shirt, just beacause I thought it was cool.

Alex! How are you? You should get an Emerson Football shirt. I bought one for myself and for my mother. (She’s been driving me crazy about getting her an Emerson shirt for almost four years.)
