DeAngelos Pizzeria Company

A chain of pizzerias in Baton Rouge, LA where Ryan was employed for a year and nearly became a fascist.

DeAngelo’s, (now known as “Louis DeAngelo’s Casual Italian Dining”) was a fantastic little pizzeria in the Hammond-Aire Shopping Center in Baton Rouge, LA where Ryan ate lunch all the time with his coworkers from Albertsons from 1997-1999. In 2002, after a lunch with Jaci, Michelle hired Ryan at the Coursey location. As it turned out, one of Ryan’s managers, Andie, baby-sat Ryan as a child.

During his tenure, Ryan participated in three wine contests amongst the four Baton Rouge locations. The first contest Ryan won by a 2-1 margin; the prize was a box of Brolio Chianti and $100. The second contest Ryan won by a 3-1 margin; the prize was a night at the Myrtles Plantation and dinner for two. In the third contest Ryan not only sold more wine than his coworkers but he also individually sold more wine than all of the other restaurants.

Ryan worked at DeAngelos for a year but refused to assimilate into the fascist DeAngelo’s culture. One night while Bryan was managing, Ryan walked out.

Many of Ryan’s friends have worked at DeAngelo’s over the years, including Jaci, Taylor, Jason, Emily, and Jenny, to name a few.

As it became more popular DeAngelo’s expanded to four Baton Rouge locations and eventually became a franchise. The rapid growth along with declining food quality inevitably hurt the once promising company.
