Gerri Chance
Ryan’s fifth grade teacher at Wedgewood Elementary.
Mrs. Chance was Ryan’s favorite elementary teacher. Probably because he was a giant suck-up and teachers pet. Ryan liked Mrs. Chance so much that he never missed a day of school that entire year. On the first day of school Mrs. Chance told her students that she was once Miss America. Gullible as he was, Ryan told his mother this. Gullible as Bonnie is, she asked Mrs. Chance during parent/teacher night what year she won Miss America.
During reading time, Ryan would always sit closest to Mrs. Chance if he could. Mrs. Chance would always massage the earlobe of whomever sat closest to her. While at the time all of the kids though this was cool, looking back this seems kinda odd.
The last time Ryan saw Mrs. Chance was outside of Bed, Bath, and Beyond in Baton Rouge. She recognized him immediately.
