Powell, Shaynna
A friend of Ryan’s since 1995.
Shaynna and Ryan first met through Brittney Daly while lunching it on the octagon bench around an old oak tree on the grounds of Baton Rouge Magnet High School. Shaynna was horrified and confused upon this first meeting, as most normally are. It wasn’t until Mrs. Woodard’s seventh period English class, where Ryan sat behind Shaynna, that they got to know each other after Ryan struck up a conversation by telling Shaynna that she had beautiful hair but that unfortunately it was the type of hair that goes gray early.
As a further test of Shaynna’s patience Ryan would, almost daily, pretend to spit an enormous loogey into the back of Shaynna’s aging hair. Ms. Powell fell for it every time, turning around in disgust to give Ryan an icy glare. After a great internal struggle, Shaynna decided that she did want to be Ryan’s friend, and not kick his ass. It became endearing even. Shaynna then spent the whole year trying to keep Ryan out of trouble with Mrs. Woodard. (And keeping Erin from raping him, and Courtney from eating him.) They’d walk around telling people that they were brother and sister, and also dating. That got a few good reactions.
Shaynna took Ryan’s side during the “breakup” with Christin Wasiloski. She’d also listen to Ryan’s ideas for “Showtime at the Inferno” (and eventually got to see it at English Day in 1998.) At the end of Freshmen year Ryan involuntarily left BRMHS because he failed Mrs. Burns’ Biology I class.
Shaynna is now married to Micheal Gueno, heir of the Gueno Taffy Candy Company.

What do you mean your side? You broke up with me?!? I don’t know why no one ever seems to remember that.
