McCain Suspends Campaign
In light of the financial crisis, John McCain just announced that he is suspending his presidential campaign. He has also asked Barack Obama to postpone Friday night’s debate.
It sounds to me like McCain is trying to stop the bleeding, not the economy’s but his own struggling campaign. It’s a risky ploy and probably one that will payoff.
This teeters on dangerous ground. First you suspend the campaign…what’s next? Suspending the election?
UPDATE: TPM reports that it was the Obama campaign that made the first gesture towards joint action on the financial crisis.

Absolutely nuts! Doesn’t McCain realize that we expect our president to multi task? Holy Toledo, McCain just gave up on the election. He can’t walk and chew bubble gum at the same time. These are unprecendented times, but that doesn’t excuse McCain’s poor judgment. CYA Johnny. Obama/Biden all the way!

John McCain suspending his campaign is a ploy. He is just hiding from the debate
pretending that his presence in Washington for the duration is necessary. This shows that he is not ready to be president, because that office requires one to be capable of multi-tasking under the most stressful conditions. McCain is not ready and he will never be ready.

COUNTRY ABOVE POLITICS !!!
Both candidates are U.S. Senators. This financial crisis will be decided in the U.S. SENATE. Currently, the brilliant plan is that after this 7 hundred billion dollar bail out … Pelosi and Reed will be in charge of picking who will be in charge of ongoing oversight for continued spending. God help us! This is another example of how Senator John McCain puts country first. All Obama cares about is winning the election at any cost. Obama neglected his duties as U.S. Senator before running for President, and especially after he began running for President. This ‘bail out - quick fix” will negatively affect Americans for decades. Many of the bloggers who are criticizing McCain for this decision wouldn’t recognize responsibility, or integrity if it bit them on the ass. Keep America strong and safe … Elect McCain/Palin in November.

Hey Eric Flynn,
I notice obama got off the campaign trail to visit a sick grandma…Absolutely nuts! Doesn’t obama realize that we expect our president to multi task? Holy Toledo, obama just gave up on the election. He can’t walk and chew bubble gum at the same time. These are unprecendented times, but that doesn’t excuse obama’s poor judgment. CYA barry. McCain/Palin all the way!
