Mr. Wizard dies at 89

Long before Bill Nye or Beakman’s World, there was Mr. Wizard on Nickelodeon. As a kid I always wished I could have had a science teacher like him. They don’t have shows for kids like this anymore.

Interesting side note: Copyright of Mr. Wizard’s World is now held by a corporation that prohibits the free distribution to today’s youth.

Los Angeles Times:

Don Herbert, who explained the wonderful world of science to young baby boomers on television in the 1950s and ’60s as “Mr. Wizard” and did the same for a later generation of youngsters on the Nickelodeon cable TV channel in the 1980s, died today. He was 89.

Wow. That’s quite impressive. My science teacher could barely turn on the bunsen burner.

Is it Needam or Needham? Either way they both sound awful, but Needham sounds delicious.
