Wednesday night doesn’t look like much now but in a few weeks it will look a lot better.
ABC has yet another hour of Dancing with the Stars (that’s five hours total for those counting) followed by a two-hour David Blaine extravaganza. ABC’s real Wednesday night lineup of Pushing Daisies — last season’s best new [...]

In the past, Tuesday nights have generally been one of the better nights of TV. In the past…
ABC has Opportunity Knocks, a new game show in which family members are asked trivia questions about one another, followed by another two hours of Dancing with the Stars. Eli Stone, ABC’s obligatory God talking to [...]

The official start of the new TV season begins tonight, although many shows premiered weeks ago, including the best new show of the season: HBO’s True Blood. There’s really nothing exciting about Monday night.
ABC has two hours of Dancing with the Stars followed by Boston Legal.
CBS premieres what is slowly [...]

Each network has owned Sunday - television’s most lucrative night - in recent years. It is the most watched night of television. It’s also the only night when prime-time starts an hour earlier than usual. This year there are no new shows on any of the major nets.

The networks gave up trying to successfully program Saturday nights a long time ago. Now it’s mostly repeats.

I can’t imagine watching television on a Friday night, especially with what the networks offer. Saturday night is the worst though.
ABC has an hour of Just for Laughs which offers up this synopsis: “A gorilla hanging from a tree surprises pedestrians.” Alright. Following that are two full hours of 20/20. I [...]

ABC has the season premieres of Ugly Betty and Grey’s Anatomy followed by the series premiere of Big Shots, which doesn’t have much buzz. It’s strange that ABC would fill their best timeslot with one of their weakest shows.
CBS returns to its Thursday night lineup from two years ago: Survivor: China, which already [...]

It’s upfronts week.
Every year the major broadcast television networks (and The CW) gather to unveil their fall schedules to hungry advertisers. If the advertisers like what they see, or even if they don’t, they shell out billions for primo ad time.
There power of the primetime schedule is not what it used to be. [...]

Fox didn’t unleash a wave of terror on Boston to promote it, but I’m still genuinely excited about The Simpsons Movie. After 18 years on the air, The Simpsons can still be an enjoyable half hour. Anyone who saw the episode where Lisa dresses up as a boy to take boy math can [...]
