24:Obligatory CTU Attack
Let’s here it again for Tom Lennox. Oh man. I love this character. Peter MacNicol plays him with such fascinating oddities. Did anyone else notice last week when he nibbled on his file folder? National Security = Delicious! MacNicol’s facial expressions make every episode more enjoyable. I only wish we had gotten a glimpse of him listening to Lisa Miller have sex with the Russian spy during the split screen at the end.
We’ve seen the CTU attack twice before. In season two, Jack, while undercover, had to help terrorists bomb CTU in order to get a lead on the nuke. Last season, there was the nerve gas attack that killed Edgar and a slew of ancillary characters. You gotta hand it to the writers and producers, that’s one cliché’ they haven’t completely exhausted. And last night’s episode was no exception; it wasn’t a bombing or gassing of CTU, it was a full-on assault.
It was obvious from the recap, that Josh Bauer was the “package” being sought once Cheng’s mercenaries stormed CTU. Though a part of me thought they were after Morris, since Cheng needed someone to reconfigure the Russian circuit board. After all, it seemed only natural since he already armed nuclear weapons for terrorists so many hours ago. How funny would that have been?
Milo is dead. Good. That’s the kind of death scene I like to see on 24. No remorse, no silent clock, just BANG and then on with the show. Milo, much like everyone else at CTU, became a waste. Nadia wasn’t going to let him hit that. She wants Doyle now. She’s into pain and torture.
And finally, Jack’s daddy is back. He’s been gone for a while but he has a good reason: he was in New York City dealing with Venon and The Sandman.
