Fall Premiere Week - Friday

I can’t imagine watching television on a Friday night, especially with what the networks offer. Saturday night is the worst though.

ABC has an hour of Just for Laughs which offers up this synopsis: “A gorilla hanging from a tree surprises pedestrians.” Alright. Following that are two full hours of 20/20. I see they’re pulling out all the stops.

CBS has The Ghost Whisperer followed by the new vampire show Moonlight, and then NUMB3RS. The ‘3′ is supposed to be an ‘E.’

NBC has more Deal or No Deal, which so far is down significantly in the ratings, followed by the two-hour premiere of Las Vegas, which is now sans Cann.

Fox has Are You Smarter than a Fifth Grader? and Nashville.

The CW offers up WWE Friday Night Smackdown!, which includes an exclamation point in the title so you know it’s good.

It’s called K’Ville, actually. A cop show set in N.O. after Katrina. I watched it - not sure why - and while some of the painful attempts at “local flavor” were, well, painful, (what is a “gumbo party”?) it wasn’t nearly as bad as I thought it would be.

It’ll probably still be canceled and I doubt I’ll orient my life around watching it, but good for a boring Friday night, nonetheless.

Fox did have a reality show called “Nashville” but I think they already canceled it. They replaced it with repeats of “K-Ville,” which normally comes on Monday. I tried to watch it but it hurt. Gumbo party?
