South Park 10.0

As a media arts major focusing in the feild of television and video, I feel it is my duty to seperate good TV from bad TV. And since most TV is utter shit, this is a very simple task. I hardly watch television, and when I do it isn’t live TV. DVR and bit-torrents have changed the way I view the the programs I like. Now I can watch said programs at my disposal and without commercials. Plus, an hour-long show like 24 I can watch in just 45 minutes. It’s great. Two of my favorites return from long breaks this evening. One from the latest of unnecessary in-season breaks, the other begins a whole new season.

The tenth (!!!) season of South Park begins tonight, hot on the heels of last week’s incident of Scientology tomcruisery with an episode titled “The Return of the Chef”. Since an episode of South Park can be thrown together in just a few days you can bet on some creative Chef-centric material. The official description for tonight’s installment only says, “The kids begin to notice something different about Chef after he suddenly returns to town.” Since Issac Hayes has fled the show, reports are that Parker and Stone are using previous audio recordings to make new dialogue. This should be gravy baby.

An hour before the South Park extravaganza (and probably running a few minutes over) LOST returns for its first episode since March !!1. AND, we get three (3) new episodes in a row. Normally a television program airing consecutively for three weeks is nothing to cheer about, but for LOST this is a rarity. Tonight’s installment, which focuses on Sun/Jin flashbacks, promises to be uberlame.
