wordsmith
wordsmith (n.)
A skilled user of words.
My friend Katrina once accused me of being a Wordsmith. One night after class a group of us went out to Sweetwater to get inebriated. I told Katrina et al about a girl in one of my classes who used the word “airy” to refer to another girl in our class as dumb; an airhead if you will. The two girls in said class got into a debate and started to bicker back and forth. When the “airy” girl said something unintelligent the other girl snapped back with, “Oh bitch, you airy!” I of course only heard “obituary.”
Katrina called me out and that is when she accused me of being a Wordsmith. So this is not a self-bestowed title. But I accept it with the utmost humility.
I’ve always had a love of words. I have multiple “Word of the Day” subscriptions and like to find obscure words. One of my favorites is aglet, which is the plastic tip of a shoestring.
The best example of my wordsmithing ability can be found in the The Megorious Dictionary — a dictionary of fictional words that I either made up entirely, like inspecable, or created by cross breeding several words together; like obesex.
